Try the Acne Peeling Method for Smooth and Healthy Skin

Having a smooth facial skin and without acne can certainly increase self-confidence and become everyone's dream. Therefore, do not be surprised if many people do various ways to get a smooth face free of acne. One way is by acne peeling. Facial peeling is one of the beauty procedures that aims to get rid of the remnants of dead skin, rejuvenate the skin, and overcome certain skin problems, such as pimples and blackheads. In addition to overcoming acne, acne peels can also brighten black spots, smooth the skin, and even skin tone. This beauty procedure is done by exfoliating the skin to clean pores.

Banish Facial Skin Problems with Acne Peeling

Based on the depth of the cleansed skin, facial peels for acne prone skin are divided into two types, namely mild and moderate. Mild peeling can be done by a beautician, while deeper acne peels must be done by a dermatologist. Here is the explanation:

Mild acne peeling

Mild acne peels are suitable for treating acne, dry skin, fine wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. This type of peeling is done by removing residual impurities in the skin and stimulating the growth of the outer layer of the skin (epidermis). The steps for the mild acne peeling procedure are:
  • Clean the face.
  • Apply the chemical solution to the face and let it sit for several minutes.
  • The face is cleaned again to remove chemical solutions.
Materials or chemical solutions commonly used for mild acne peels are alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), salicylic acid, and tretinoin. All of these chemical solutions are lighter than the chemicals used for deeper acne peels. Mild acne peeling can be done every 2-5 weeks, depending on the condition of the skin and the severity of the acne that appears.

Moderate acne peeling

This type of acne peel does not only clean the outer skin cells, but also in the deeper layers of the skin (dermis). Moderate acne peels can be used to treat acne scars, deeper wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. The procedure steps are:
  • Clean the face.
  • Apply and leave the chemical solution for several minutes. The solution that is often used for this type of peeling is trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and glycolic acid.
  • Neutralize chemicals with cold saline (salt water) compresses.
To get the best results, you can repeat this beauty procedure every 3-9 months.

Things To Look For After Having Acne Peeling

Although effective enough to overcome several skin problems, the acne peeling procedure can make facial skin become red or tanned and painful for days due to irritation. Therefore, after doing acne peels, you are advised to avoid using cosmetics or make up for about 1 week, routinely use a facial moisturizer, and avoid sun exposure. In addition to the above treatments, you can also prevent or minimize problems with facial skin by routinely treating facial skin, controlling stress, eating healthy and nutritiously balanced foods, using sunscreen, and not smoking. If you want to do acne peeling above, remember to always consult a dermatologist or aesthetic doctor first. Your doctor will determine how severe your acne is, and suggest the type of acne peeling that is most appropriate for your skin condition.
